Can you believe that this is the million dollar view from our GK village in Surigao City? It has been strongly suggested to the GK caretaker team to build "sensitively around this view" and develop the area to be a park of some sort with a picnic grove with a playground for the kids.

These are the new house in one of the streets being developed in a GK community in Butuan City, which promises to be the biggest GK project yet - a full 6,400 families to be relocated in about 3 years.

. . . and just across the same street in our Surigao City GK village is a row of houses done by Habitat, bigger but dreary. Habitat builders are gone and this is what is left for their collectors to visit monthly..and just across the street are neighbors of Gawad Kalinga with a constant stream of caretakers hand-holding a community of former squatters with their houses being paid for ONLY by sweat equity .
