Working with "the poorest of the poor" has never been my strong point and it has never occurred to me that I could and should work with them. My idea has always been that I should work towards helping to change a social and eco-political system that allows the vast majority of its population to suffer poverty and its consequent deprivations. That was how I met Jose Maria Montelibano and, through him, discovered GK.

This webpage was born with the idea of working together but in our own separate ways that always meet at that point where we pool rsources to build a brighter and happier "Inang Bayan." Jolomon, as I have always called Jose Montelibano, provides the content from his direct participation in Philippine affairs, whereas I could provide content directly or indirectly related to Jolomon's work with Gawad Kalinga. At this time in my life, the articles and features in my page contain what I have learned of the social and political thought in Scandinavia and western Europe, often with reference to how these can be modified for use in the Philippine context.
